My Research Process & Why I chose this topic
My Research Process and Why I chose this topic
Some Background Information about myself, I always loved anime and my mother was one of the people who joined the argument that Anime is evil and is a bad influence on kids. I never agreed to her argument because I felt otherwise, I felt that certain anime shows I would watch taught me about being independent and that making the right decisions without peer pressure is the right way to go. So when Mr.Phillips told us that we had a research project coming up and you could pick any country I was stoked.

I selected this country because Japan is as beautiful as it comes and it is known for one of my favorite things to watch which is Anime. I knew that i had to take this opportunity to write about Japan and how good Anime actually is. Getting started with trying to find out my research question was an adventure I was ready to take. Yet it was not easy getting my research question meeting the requirements. In the process of refining my question once I knew what I wanted to write about was a huge obstacle i could not overcome at first. My question was not specific enough and it did not hit the major point I was trying to actually write about. I expected to get the answer that I won the argument against my mother that Anime is a good influence on people.
The Difficulties I faced
The difficulties I faced was I actually at first could not find information on my research question. Imagine a maze and you think you found the exit and you are just astounded but it ends up being a dead end, that is how my process getting information was going at first. I had to dig deep into articles and not scan but read thoroughly and read between the lines. The more I started to paraphrase my question and change it around when researching the more I started to get useful information needed for my Research Project.
